Tradition vs. Change

Many societies and cultures depend heavily on tradition, but there are times when change is more important. Even young readers will be able to cite changes that have taken place in history, such as steps toward racial equality, advances in technology, and changes in government practices. While change is not always good, there are many situations that require change for the overall good of those involved. This novel is set in Pyrrhia, a continent inhabited by seven tribes of dragons. Pyrrhia is changing after generations of traditions among individual tribes and across the country as a whole. These changes include a country at peace after decades of fighting, two tribes finally able to put aside a 2,000-year feud, and a queen who discovers some of her tribe's traditions are not beneficial.
