Summary
Part 3, and Chapter 43 begin with Mac explaining Eduardo’s last words as “Vayan con Dios” (293). He and Sara are on the road. Sara is sad about leaving Eduardo, and Mac is thinking about the skulls in the trunk. They plan to drive through the night to arrive in Cayo Guillermo by 7 a.m., meet the contact in the lobby of the Melia by 7 p.m. and then get the cargo on The Maine and sail for Key West. Sara apologizes to Mac for lying to him about the skulls. She also tells him that she did not know Eduardo would be there, or the trunks would be in Havana, and that they would not go to Camaguey. Mac is still angry about not getting his promised money. The chapter ends as Sara tries to talk Mac into coming back to Cuba again some...
