Summary
In Chapter 10, Hadrian wakes up early and cannot get back to sleep. He goes in search of the room where he thought he saw the man in the hood. The room is a storage room. No student would come into the room. Hadrian wonders the building until he finds his way onto the main floor and makes his way to the dining hall. There are not many people about. Professor Arcadius is sitting by the fire with the other early risers. He asks Hadrian what he has been doing since leaving home. He tells him he joined King Urith’s army, but moved on when the men did not like be bested by a fifteen year old. Under King Ethelred he was not quick to show off and he lied about his age.
