Summary
In Chapter 5, Sebastian and the others on the barge admit that they are not sleeping. Hadrian was awake most of the night with his door open so he could keep an eye on the corridor leading to the other cabins. They ask Hadrian his plans when they reach Colnora. He tells them he does not have any that he is just traveling. He asks about Farlan, the steer man. No one has seen him. The passengers will have to take turns manning the rudder the rest of the trip.
The merchants believe that Farlan was killed by the hooded man. Hadrian does not believe it. The others want to kill the man before he kills them. Hadrian will not kill a man on speculation. He says he will defend the man if they try to hurt him. Hadrian tells the men to stay together...
