Dawn Schiff

Dawn Schiff is one of the novel's central characters and one of the first-person narrators. Dawn is an eccentric person who loves turtles and is socially awkward. She has taken a job at Vixed, the company where Natalie works, because she wants revenge on Natalie for bullying Mia, Dawn’s childhood best friend, to the point that Mia died by suicide.

While working at Vixed, Dawn discovers that Natalie is stealing from the company. She uses this information to fake her own death and make Natalie appear responsible.
