Summary
In Chapter 31, Anne runs from Cynthia’s house to her own home. She packs an overnight bag and then takes a cab to the Dries’ house. Suddenly, she remembers from where she recognizes Derek Honig. She calls another cab. In Chapter 32, Marco returns home to find Anne sitting in the dark holding a carving knife. She says not to come near her and tells him what she learned from Cynthia. Marco admits everything about his involvement in the kidnapping. Anne believes that Marco murdered Derek Honig, but Marco insists that he did not. Anne says that she remembers Derek Honig from her childhood because he is a friend of Richard’s.
