Summary
Chapter 21 continues the interview between Anne and Rasbach. Rasbach asks about Anne’s fear of her mother speaking to the police and tells her that he spoke with Janice Foegle. Anne leaves the interview and tells Marco that she wants to get a lawyer. Anne calls her parents for assistance. Richard says he has already found a lawyer for them: Aubrey West, a famous criminal lawyer. Marco argues with Richard’s choice, saying that hiring a bigshot lawyer will make him and Anne look guilty. Anne decides that they should keep Aubrey West. The narrative shifts to the Stillwells’ house. Cynthia and Graham are still arguing. Graham wants to give the video to the police, but worries about losing his job as a comptroller at a conservative company if he and Cynthia get charged for filming people having sex without their permission.
