Ice Cream

Ice Cream Fifteen Star is the main character and narrator of the novel “The Country of Ice Cream Star.” Taking her name from a Friendly’s Ice Cream sign – something which Ice notes she has never tasted but longs to taste - Ice is a pretty and courageous girl of fifteen. She is black, thin, and tall. Ice looks up admiringly to her brother, Driver, who leads their Sengle tribe. She is stunned when she and her tribe members come upon Pasha. Ice becomes obsessed with finding the cure for posies that Pasha says exists just as Driver falls ill. Ice goes on to work with Pasha to bring her tribe and members of neighboring tribes south from Massa Woods as the Russians advance. Ice Cream grows very close to Pasha.
