Summary
In Massa, Tober 2 – Vember 1
Chapter 31: Our Last Departure – Ice begins getting her Sengles ready to leave. She decides to pay her brother one last visit, but First Physician tells her that Driver does not want to see her. It is then that Ice hears the laughter of Hak’s girl in Driver’s room. Ice is then called to the Easter Gate, where the Christings’ cows are being brought through and where Pasha is waiting with two rifles. He insists she will need one on the coming journey. Back inside, while Ice gathers ammunition, John of Christ thanks her for saving his family but says they will be remaining behind. Still, 190 Lowells and 37 Sengles gather together and leave to begin the journey.
