Summary

In Chapter 31, Goldie and the rest of the camp celebrate Fourth of July with a big barbecue. Cal comes to camp to deliver fireworks for his summer job. Goldie sneaks away and asks him why he was carrying Heller’s employee card. Cal explains that Heller told him to use it “in case anything happened to him” (172). Heller had said he was coming to the camp to get answers but might not make it back home. Cal asks for the card back, but Goldie insists on keeping it.

In Chapter 32, Goldie walked into the library at school and realized someone had put her mug shot as the background and screensaver for every computer. Everyone laughed at her, but Heller did not say anything in her defense.
