Chapter 4 Summary

After everyone has eaten, Sessions tells McCoy that he has told Macklin the purpose of his mission. Since they will be spending the night at Chiehshom, Sessions wants to see if the Japanese have any German artillery at nearby Yenchi'eng. McCoy says he will not go to Yenchi'eng with Sessions and produces orders from Banning. He tells them that there is no way they can go to Yenchi'eng without being caught.

That night they all eat dinner together at the Hotel aim See. McCoy had hoped to eat alone with Zimmerman and avoid the others. When they leave the table, McCoy tells Ernie to drop the drive shaft in the truck. He plots the route for Macklin and Sessions, knowing he cannot stop them from going to Yenchi'eng.

The next day Zimmerman calls McCoy to the lobby. There are two Japanese messengers there...
