Summary
Chapter 5, "It's About Time," begins that same evening back at Joanie's house where is sharing her confession. Joanie recalls when she was still working at the library and decided got confront her husband about her long-held suspicions about his cheating on her with a workmate. He was flustered and denied it, but when he takes Joanie out to a nice restaurant she loved she knows that her suspicions are correct. She rents a car to follow her husband home from work on an evening when he has told Joanie that he has a work-related dinner to attend, and tails him to the home of the female colleague in question.
