Chapter 20 Summary

Harry leaves the building, still stunned by Irving's revelations. He sees Edgar a block and a half ahead of him and assumes Edgar's headed to a watering hole so he follows, but Edgar doesn't stop at either of the two usual places. Feeling strange about it, Harry follows him anyway. A sick feeling forms in his stomach as he watches Edgar enter the bar frequented by lawyers from the nearby law center. Harry watches from the alcove as Edgar sits down with Chandler. Stunned, Harry stands outside and waits until Edgar finally comes out. Harry calls out and Edgar reacts like he's been hit.
