Summary
The Sympathizer begins using more and more of the remedy as he wanders Paris, in part because he is now serving as bait for the gang of Arab youths. While The Sympathizer continues to make deliveries, Le Cao Boi, Bon, and the dwarfs patrol the neighborhoods in a Citroën CX, armed.
One night, The Sympathizer asks Bon if selling drugs offends him. Bon replies that the French “got rich by stealing from us” (132). They continue to attend French lessons, where they read Césaire’s A Tempest, a retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tempest from Caliban’s perspective. They learn French vocabulary as they read.
