Summary

On his last night in Heaven, The Sympathizer gets drunk and wonders what his mother would think of his actions. He imagines her forgiving him for allowing the communist agent to be raped. Bon calls him the next morning and informs him that Sleepy is dead and his brother Shorty is seriously hurt. Sleepy and Shorty were set upon by a young group of Arab youths. Bon tells The Sympathizer that he should have killed Beatles and Rolling Stones before agreeing with The Sympathizer that it is time for war.

The Sympathizer contemplates whose fault the ensuing gang war is. He has healed and is ready to leave Heaven. Before he does, he finds that the eschatological muscle has left him copies of Black Skin, White Masks, The Wretched of the Earth, and A Tempest. The Sympathizer goes to say goodbye...
