Summary
Britt and Jube began their second journey west in June with a white man, Ferguson, who was also searching for captive family members in Chapter 21. When they arrived at the Indian Agency, Samuel agreed to give Britt escorts to the Comanche and keep Jube at the agency. Elizabeth radiated rage, instilling fear in the Comanche women who believed her life force had the power to kill. Tissoyo greeted Britt when the band arrived and translated for them. He relayed Eaten Alive’s acknowledgement of Jube’s trick against Aperian Crow, but Britt stood firm. As they bargained for Lottie, a child approached with a message for Eaten Alive.
