Lloyd
Lloyd is an English painter who travels to a remote Irish island in order to paint the cliffs there. Though in some respects Lloyd is fussy and particular, he is also steadfastly devoted to his craft, and insists on living in inhospitable conditions and taking laborious, old-fashioned methods of transportation to the island as a means of making his experience authentic. He frequently imagines titles of paintings as he observes given scenery, people, or activities, and he is obsessed with fine-tuning his craft.
Though Lloyd is completely devoted to his work as a painter, he is also a mercurial guest on the island, frequently making demands for alterations to his lodgings or the shipment of more paints and materials.
