Point of View
The point of view is third-person omnipresent. The reader knows how and what the other characters think and feel, with the point of view shifting uncharacteristically within a chapter without any indication that someone else has begun talking or thinking. These multiple viewpoints are offered so that the reader can piece together the actual events of Milla's death and the actual events taking place between Jon and Siri.
Language and Meaning
The language and content can get explicit from time to time. As for the language use, it is modern language but with foreign undertones in the way things are described. This book was originally produced in Norway and then translated into English. While the translation is quite good, there are still elements that remain to give it the feel of a European novel.
