Siri

Siri is a main character in the story, The Cold Song. She is in a failing marriage to her husband, Jon. She is very pretty but has a kink in her spine towards her hips. The kink is not very noticeable but causes her pain. Siri is a professional chef and owns two restaurants, one of which is only open in the summer. Siri is the mother to Alma and Liv, and she hires Milla as a nanny. Later she sees Milla as a threat since Siri's husband is a known philanderer.

Siri's mother, Jenny, has become part of a local legend that describes a young brother and sister who sat by a lake. The brother, who was just four, fell into the lake, and the older sister, just sat there and watched it happen. In her grief, the mother drugged the daughter, took her to the lake...
