Summary
The chapter opens up with passages from Jon, Alma's father. Jon is a successful writer except he can't seem to write the third part to his trilogy. The first two had sold exceptionally well. Now, he is suffering from writer's block. He fixates on the dog, Leopold, and how uncontrollable and unreliable he is. Siri is his wife, and she is shown to be very strict and stoic towards many different things including her family. Alma is their daughter along with Liv. Alma is struggling to find her place in her family and life, because she is not like the other girls and has issues socializing.
The storyline flashes back to a time when Siri had enlisted Milla, the dead girl from the previous chapter, to watch her children during the day while she went to her restaurant to work. Jon had been having...
