Chapter 22 Summary

As the sniper continues to fire shots, Borlu makes it to Bowden and gets him safely down on the ground. Dhatt yells that he's shot but okay. Yolanda is dead from a shot to the head. Borlu manages to see Corwi at the other side looking confused as the sniper gets away. Borlu runs to Dhatt's car, trying to follow the shooter that is running on Beszel streets, while Borlu drives on Ul Qoma streets that cross.

Borlu stops and jumps out of the car at a point of crosshatch. When Borlu spots the shooter, Borlu feels as if he recognizes the sniper but doesn't know from where. Right before the sniper reaches a street in Beszel that someone from Ul Qoma can never go, Borlu shoots the sniper with Bowden's gun. Figures emerge in black clothing and the word breach is whispered...
