Chapter 14 Summary

Sitting in a teahouse, Dhatt mentions that they need to set standards for questioning people. He also verifies that the guard, Tsueh, has an alibi for the time of Mahalia's murder. Dhatt suggests there are two perps. Dhatt asks Borlu what led him to finding out Mahalia's identity. Borlu admits it was a phone call from Ul Qoma, and that he thinks it was from a unificationist.

Dhatt drives them to the unificationist's hangout and bangs on the door. Dhatt tells the five people inside that he knows a call was made from this house to Borlu. He makes them go around the table and say, "Inspector, I have something to tell you." One of the boy's voices sounds familiar, but Borlu urges Dhatt to leave.
