Chapter 9 Summary

Though Cameryn is grateful to Justin for getting her out of there, she declines his offer to grab food, insisting that she just wants to go home. When she asks what Justin thinks about Dr. Jewel, he says Dr. Jewel is convincing, but Cameryn needs more information to believe in a psychic. Cameryn cannot remember who St. Christopher is so she promises to ask Mammaw. She wonders about Justin's secret as he tells her about growing up in New York, but when he asks about her family, Cameryn claims her mother died a long time ago and she does not want to talk about it. Her thoughts returning to the case, Cameryn wonders what could cause a garlic smell besides garlic, and when Justin suggests looking it up in the books he has at his house, she is confused by how he says...
