Divorce
Both Jack and Holly deal with the aftermath of their parent's divorce in different ways, showing how children are often affected by the parent's separation more than others realize. Jack tries to bury his emotions for the sake of his parents while Holly lashes out at her new family in jealousy. Both of these characters must come to accept their feelings on this change and bond over their shared experience.
