Point of View
The Christmas Pig is told in the third-person point-of-view. While it is focused exclusively on Jack's thoughts and feelings, there is a sense that the story is being told through the eyes of a more knowledgeable narrator and not Jack himself. This is not because the narrator ever shifts from Jack's perspective. In fact, the narrator stays very close to him all throughout the novel and reveals everything about the world and the magic of the Land of the Lost through his understanding of it. However, the overall tone of the novel is that of a storyteller who is sharing Jack's tale with others. This creates a mythical feeling to every scene, especially as Jack and the Christmas Pig are wandering the Land of the Lost.
