Jack
Jack is the main character and the point-of-view that the narrator focuses on throughout the entire novel. As a very young boy, Jack does not have many life experiences. This means that he is naturally immature and struggles to comprehend his own emotions when faced with difficult situations. This is shown in how he feels so frustrated with Holly's bullying that he taunts her, or how he has an extreme meltdown when she throws DP out of the window. In both of these instances, the reader can understand why Jack is acting this way, even if it is not inherently good. He is still young and learns a lot about himself over the course of the novel.
