Summary

Part Two: "Mislaid" opens with Chapter 15: "Beneath the Tree" as Jack and the Christmas Pig fall into the Land of the Lost along golden light. Jack sees millions of Things inside a warehouse including a roll of wrapping paper that is pulled back up when its owner finds it. Jack is overwhelmed by all of the Things talking as they land and the Christmas Pig says they need a ticket while they walk by the Loss Adjusters who work for the Loser. A pair of earrings land, shouting that they are valuable until the tin opener sends them off with the other jewelry. The Christmas Pig says he and Jack fell out of his owner's pocket and the tin opener sends them to the other children's toys on a roller skate.
