Summary
In Part Two, “The Disappearance, Day One, Saturday, December 4, 1926,” while driving away from Styles, Agatha considered her new circumstances. Because it was dark and her eyes were puffy “from crying,” she could not see the road and swerved when she saw a man in the distance (132). She soon learned the man was Nan’s lost love, Finbarr. He told her he had a plan that could help both of them. In the mood for adventure, Agatha agreed to join him in his car.
In “Here Lies Sister Mary,” years after having her first child at the convent, Nan would have “another baby,” Rosie (136). Though Nan loved Rosie, she would never replace Genevieve.
