Chapters 36 and 37 Summary
Babs gets run over and killed by a car one week after Bettina throws away the matchbooks. Bettina calls Lucas and he comes to help her make the arrangements. Lucas meets with the lawyer with Bettina. Bettina finds out she has about three million dollars in a trust and that Lucas is the executor.
Per her request, they scatter Babs's ashes in Lake Michigan. Over dinner, Bettina confronts Lucas about being her father. Bettina returns to New York to live with Lucas and Poppy and their child, JoJo.
