Skookum National Forest
Skookum National Forest is where Madison went missing and where Naomi spends a lot of time searching for her. The forest is sprawling with only a few families living there. Madison and her parents had gone there to find a Christmas tree. Naomi travels some of the roads in the area. She also does a lot of walking. She visits the ranger station, the Murphy home, and finds an abandoned mine. Madison learned the area well over the years she spent here.
Hallsetter Cabin
This cabin is in the Skookum National Forest, a few hours' walk from the Strikes Store near Stubbed Toe Creek. The cabin is where Walter Hallsetter held a little boy captive and brutalized him.
