Summary
In the chapter entitled Year 3, Yunior attempts to focus more on his work and his writing. He focuses more seriously on the classes he teaches, and he begins to run regularly for exercise. Yunior begins running almost every day. It improves his physical and mental health, but he develops a sharp pain in his right foot. His doctor diagnoses him with plantar fasciitis, and Yunior is unable to continue running. Yunior takes up yoga instead, and a woman in the class appears to be interested in him. Yunior’s friends, Elvis, Darnell, and Arlenny, advise him to date her, but Yunior ignores the woman. Yunior’s progress with his own writing is slow. He begins dating a Harvard Law School student.
