Summary
Apollo rented a car to crash into the cemetery gates. Patrice accompanied him, insisting against the plan, for “two black men sitting in a minivan in the middle of the road in White Ass, Long Island,” was “bound to draw attention soon enough” (296). Patrice consulted Google Maps to locate a weak spot in the cemetery fence perimeter, informing Apollo, “We can be heroes, but heroes like us don’t get to make mistakes” (299).
To procure tools to dig up Brian’s grave, they found the maintenance shed, where Patrice countered the signal of the outdated alarm system with one from his iPad. Apollo referred to its capability as “wizardry” (303).
