Point of View

The omniscient point of view of the narrator strongly impacts the way in which the novel is told. While there are three main characters in the story, the narrator spreads attention and focus to many of the minor characters in the story, who are almost all given backstories and lengthy explanations for their actions in the central plot. Characters who have little impact on the larger story (like Amber Craig or Juliet Rocca, as well as Rosamund Harding, Laverne Douglas, Faith Read, and Mandy Welsh), are given attention by the omniscient narrator.
