Chapters 26-29 Summary
Adam and Lee decide to spend their weekend in Clanton, Mississippi. It was her hometown, a place filled with many memories. She shows him the cemetery where her mother and grandmother were buried, as well as many other not so kind Cayhall relatives. They discuss where they should bury Sam when his time comes. They discuss her childhood and her memories of Adam's father, Eddie, as a child. She takes Adam to see the home where they grew up. It is now abandoned and overgrown with weeds, but it still renders strong emotions from Lee. She recalls witnessing her father murder Joe Lincoln, the father of Eddie's childhood best friend, Quince.
