Nermin's office
Arrow’s unit commander is a handsome man named Nermin Filipović, a professional soldier whose nobility is at once tragic and inspiring. His office “isn’t much to look at,” a tiny room with boarded up windows, a stained carpet, and a simple desk (55). The lightbulb above the desk often flickers uncertainly, adding an ominous and fearful energy to Arrow’s meetings with him. However, despite its sparse and gloomy aesthetic, Nermin’s office is the setting of true friendship for Arrow, and its walls come to see Arrow’s rare moments of affection for the life she lives.
