Summary

The chapter begins with the friends in Sur la Vie, picking up where the first chapter left off. Jordan tells Marielle he has six to nine months left to live. Marielle is tending to the kittens she brought, and she teaches Jordan how to feed them. Jordy comes downstairs as they finish.

After this, Jordan tells all the friends his prognosis. Naomi talks about how she might sell Sur la Vie, and Jordan tries to convince them not to. He says he is “giving” his funeral to Jordy so that “the pact would remain binding forever,” since he never technically had his funeral before his death (277). Jordy reluctantly agrees; Jordan has planned out what to do for his funeral this weekend.
