Chapter 7 Summary
As Qwill sits on the terrace wondering why anyone would forge a letter to Daisy's employer, Mildred explains that Daisy could not spell well and had a unique style of handwriting. Qwill asks if Daisy could have done something wrong and asked someone else to mail the card to convince people she had gone east. He wants to speak to Daisy's mother and asks Mildred to tell Della Mull that he found and wants to return Daisy's belongings. Mildred is not surprised to learn that Daisy is pregnant. Qwill is getting "some unsavory vibrations about this case" (page 116).
