Chapter 18 Summary

Carrie is telling The Mouse about her story on Donna LaDonna and discrimination. The Mouse suggests Carrie should write something less controversial for her first story. She suggests writing about Cliques. When Gayle comes into the library, she suggests a similar story, so Carrie starts interviewing kids in school about cliques. Carrie wants to work on her piece, but Sebastian wants to go to the mall. Carrie agrees to go because Lali works at The Gap now and Carrie doesn't like the fact that Sebastian and Lali seem to be getting closer.

Carrie's article publishes. Most of her friends congratulate her, but Lali seems combative about it and everything else Carrie has in her life. Sebastian says he's glad the story is over because Carrie was bugging everyone with her questions. Peter says Smidgens expects Carrie to write something else for the paper...
