Bix

Bix's portion of the narrative appears in the chapter "The Affinity Charm." Bix is married to Lizzie and lives in New York City. They have several children, the youngest of whom is Gregory.

When Bix was a young man, he was desperate to prove himself to his family and to society. He began to dream of an ethereal realm in which all humans might be connected to all other humans. From this initial vision, Bix's Mandala project was born. Using the Mandala social media website and technologies, users could externalize their memories onto a hard drive and then upload them online. In this way, the individual would not only be able to revisit all of her memories, unfiltered, but would gain access to everyone else's memories and consciousnesses. Mandal soon grew to global fame. Bix could no longer go anywhere without being recognized.
