Summary
Pages 196 to 223 -- Cassie left Peter's house when he was at school, and biked back to her house across town. Two hours later, Bev came home and was startled; she did not recognize Cassie at first. They got into a heated argument where Cassie accused Bev of having lied about her father, and said Bev did not love her. Cassie then called her mother "a fucking lying bitch" and ran out of the house (201). This was the story according to Bev, and Julia was not sure whether or not she believed it.
Cassie's second disappearance had begun. The police were involved, and there were posters and reported sightings of Cassie throughout the area. Julia and Peter went to the playground to discuss where they thought Cassie might be, and what might have happened to her. They wonder whether Anders Shute and/or Bev...
