Chapters 29-32 Summary
In chapter twenty-nine, Backman arrives in Milano and quickly finds a way to email his son in fear that the discovery of the phone could have led to him in some way. Neal is on the internet when Backman emails so they are able to speak live through their emails. Backman asks Neal to locate Senator Ira Clayburn, someone Backman appears to think will help him. Then Backman boards a train with a newly bought disguise, unaware that Luigi and a group of CIA agents are hot on his trail.
In chapter thirty, Julia Javier checks Backman's file and sends the operatives to Switzerland, convinced this is where Backman is headed. Backman is on a train and is joined in his compartment by an eccentric woman who scares away other possible passengers with her luggage and booze. Backman finds himself falling...
