Summary

In Chapter 24, the mysterious orb lights up the night and Sunny watches as dragons gather, hoping for an end to the war. The dragonets of the prophecy were hatched on a “brightest night” when all three moons were full, an event that will not happen for decades to come. They emerge through the magic tunnel from the Rainforest to the Sand Kingdom. Fatespeaker is worried about Starflight but he insists on seeing this situation through. They briefly discuss the orb. Starflight identifies it as a comet and believes it is responsible for the light earthquakes they have experienced. Fatespeaker says she is “having a vision” and Starflight reminds her “those powers aren't real” (221).
