Knud Pedersen
Knud Pedersen was one of the most daring members of the Churchill Club. He motivated his friends and brother to undertake more dangerous missions, from stealing weapons to blowing up a train, that eventually got the group members arrested. At the same time, however, Knud also had a moral compass that ensured that the Churchill Club never did anything that would be too hard for a group of middle-schoolers to handle, like, for example, killing anyone.
Pedersen, first and foremost, was a Danish patriot, who was embarrassed by his country for its paltry response to German occupation. He turned to Denmark's neighbors, the Norwegians, for inspiration for his resistance movement. Certainly, Pedersen had to deal with Denmark's quick acceptance -- and sometimes welcoming response -- to German rule and German soldiers not only in his youth but also for the rest of his life.
