Chapter Ten (Angelo) Summary
Before the Spring Fling, the only formal dance Ruby ever attended was the Homecoming Dance at Garfield Park, the public school her friend Angelo attended. In truth, Ruby and Angelo weren't really friends, their mothers were, so when Angelo was dateless for homecoming, his mother called to see if Ruby would like to go. She said yes not because she was interested in Angelo, but because she wanted to experience a formal dance. On the day of the dance, Angelo showed up with a corsage of yellow roses.
