Chapter One (Adam) Summary

Adam Cox was the first boy Ruby had a crush on in preschool. She stared at him for months and even named her stuffed bunny after him, before mustering enough courage to ask him over to play. They were best friends for most of preschool but after that, Ruby went one way for kindergarten and Adam went another. Ruby didn't see Adam again until freshman year of high school, when Tate Prep organized a mixer with another local high school. Ruby attended her best friends - Cricket, Nora, and Kim. When Nora and Cricket went off to dance together, Ruby and Kim amused themselves by rating the new guys on a scale-of-hotness.
