Summary
In Chapter 33, at Sing Sing Correctional Facility Strauss and Wilde met with Raymond Stark, a black man in a wheelchair. Raymond had been in jail since 1986 for the murder of Christopher Anson, a rich, white college student. Raymond was convicted because it was rumored that Raymond sold drugs to Anson the night he was killed. The knife believed to have been used to murder Anson was found under a mattress in Raymond’s apartment. Raymond said the knife was not his and that he did not kill Anson.
Strauss continued that lawyers working with the Truth Program uncovered that the same detective who found the knife in Raymond’s apartment had planted evidence in three other crimes.
