Book 2 Chapter 17 Summary

Chapter 17 opens in the restaurant where Bourne and Lavier are eating. The restaurant is in Argenteuil, a few miles outside of Paris. Bourne tells her he knows about the fiche. She is startled, but Bourne holds her arm so she cannot escape. Bourne tries to calm her. He tells her he is a rich American, part of an organization that is looking for Bourne. She does not know he is Bourne. She assumes he is one of Cain's angry clients. Bourne says Cain stole his company's money and he is tracking it down. Lavier tells Bourne he made an error that he choose the wrong man. Bourne is confused. He continues to probe the woman wanting to find out more about Cain and Bourne. He tells her he knows she works for Carlos, and she is shocked Bourne knows about Carlos...
