Book 1 Chapter 7 Summary

Bourne and St. Jacques drive to the Löwenstrasse. Pulling up in front of the row houses another memory comes to Bourne, this time a word, 'Steppdeckstrasse.' He feels that it is another similar boardinghouse, but much more rundown. Before going inside to find apartment thirty-seven, St. Jacques requests to be let go. Bourne says no and tells her he still needs her to rent a car. He does not have a driver's license. She looks at him bewildered and angry but says nothing. The two enter the boardinghouse and notice the name Chernak on the door. Bourne has St. Jacques ring the doorbell. When a man answers, he forces his way enter the apartment.

Chernak is in the apartment. He is in a wheelchair and has no legs. Bourne sends St. Jacques into the bedroom and prepares to talk...
