Summary
Chapter Three
Will speaks with his father about his future. Will says he wants to go to art college in San Francisco, but his father forbids it. Instead, he wants him to do something more fruitful with his life that will lead to a successful job. After their discussion, they go to see a demonstration by Mr. Dorian, the owner of the circus and the photographer when the railway was complete. Mr. Dorian shows off his hypnotism ability and Will is officially introduced to Maren, the girl that took his tooth three years before. Will tries to speak with them, but they’re on a separate part of the train he can’t access.
