Nina Hill

Nina is the main character of the story and the one the narrator follows most heavily. Nina is a bookworm that struggles with extreme anxiety and feels that she must plan every moment of her life. This makes creating new relationships challenging, as she struggles to cancel plans for fear of messing up her life. While this does make her an introvert, Nina is shown to enjoy her time with the friends she has made, and runs two separate book clubs, including one for elementary kids. Throughout the novel, it is revealed that Nina may have inherited her shyness from her father’s side of the family, but the lack of her mother’s presence in her life made it worse.
